Thanksgiving Homework


HAPPY THANKSGIVING SCHOLARS!!

Research a plant in your neighborhood 
Criteria For Success: a Plant Paper includes…
The name of the plant and where you found it
A picture, drawing or piece (lead, dried flower etc) of the plant
At least 3 facts about that plant
Form the internet
Based on your family or your observations (when does it bloom? When does it die? Does it have a fruit or pollen?)
If you do two plants in your area I will give extra credit

6 Types of Energy Homework - DUE 11/7 AVID 11/8 HONORS

Instructions: Find six images that each represent one of the six types of energy that we reviewed in class.  You may draw these images, cut them out of a magazine or print them off of the internet.

Criteria for Success: This homework assignment includes...

1. Six separate images (one for each type of energy)
2. Each image must be labeled with the name of the energy it represents

You may use any size paper to complete this assignment.

REMEMBER: the six types of energy are Mechanical, Thermal, Chemical, Electrical, Nuclear and Electromagnetic.  Electromagnetic energy is anything that has waves.  For example, sound travels as sound waves so this is a type of electromagnetic energy.  Light, from visible to ultraviolet etc, also travels as a wave.
